Publisher's brown pictorial cloth gilt. 8 5/8 x 5 1/2 inches; xi, 426; xi, 479 pp.; folding map, frontispieces, plates, in-text illustrations. Extremities somewhat worn, textblocks overopened and a bit loose, map torn, scattered foxing.
