[Memphis, Tennessee: privately printed, 1947]. First edition, inscribed by the author. Original pictorial stiff card. 11 x 8 1/2 inches; 85 pp.; plates after photographs. Wraps a bit creased and rubbed, fore-edge a bit thumbed.
Warmly inscribed to the author's cousins on the title page: "Safari Greetings / to / Marie and Lucien Beckner / My charming Kentucky cousins. / With sincere admiration. / Virginia Field Walton Brooks / Epping Forest Manor / Memphis, Tenn. / Aug. 15, 1950". Czech, Africa, p. 37.
