George IV Rosewood Center Table by T. & G. Seddon
Circa 1820
The rectangular top above a cushion-molded frieze, the scrolled trestle supports joined by a platform stretcher, raised on scrolling paw feet, on sunk casters. Height 29 1/4 inches (74.5 cm), width 48 inches (122 cm), depth 25 1/4 inches (64 cm).

The brothers T. & G. Seddon, descendants of the well-known London cabinetmaker George Seddon, established their firm in 1815. Originally based at the two-acre family premises on Aldersgate Street, London, the firm later moved to Gray's Inn Road.

With previous restorations, edge molding to top later, sunfaded with dark rectangular panel in middle, shrinkage crack at join of two boards along center, old marks and scratches, top reattached and now with later screws.
