[n.p.]; circa 1910. Unique photographic album of the hunting exploits of this adventurer. Full antelope hide with "BEA 1910" in cast brass characters mounted to the front cover, preserved in a modern linen case. 14 x 10 inches (35 x 25 cm); 48 ff. of thin black card, with roughly 250 mounted high-quality tinted gelatin silver prints, the majority approximately 3 1/2 x 5 5/8 inches (or the reverse), but with a number in larger format. Some binding wear, text block now loose in the binding, the first leaf detached, eminently restorable.
An exceptional photographic album of a major hunting expedition, during which rhino, elephant, cape buffalo, various big cats and innumerable antelope etc. were hunted. The extensive array of images, in addition to the quarry, include many fine shots of the landscape, the indigenous population and of the expedition party themselves.
