Worcester, Mass.: Isaiah Thomas Jr., 1805. First Worcester edition. Period American brown panelled sheep, recessed spine label (a feature we have noted on bindings of other Thomas imprints of the period). 8 3/4 x 5 inches (22 x 13 cm); xii, 694 pages; 6 plates. Binding somewhat worn and scuffed, a stain to the upper cover, some foxing and staining internally. Stamp of Hough & Wood (perhaps a pharmacist) on the endpaper, together with the Sheldon Art Museum stamp.
