DICKENS, CHARLES Oliver Twist; or, the Parish Boy's Progress by "Boz."
London: Richard Bentley, 1838. First edition, with "Boz" to the title pages. Three volumes. Finely bound in modern full red morocco gilt by Bayntun-Riviere, the spines tooled and lettered in gilt with raised bands, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, the original cloth covers and spines bound-in, slipcased together. 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches (19 x 11.5 cm); [4] 331 [4 ads]; [4] 307; [2 ads] [2] 315 pp., with 3 frontispieces and 21 plates by George Cruikshank including the Fireside plate in volume III, the half-titles present in volumes I & II as called for, bound without the plate list. Some occasional spotting but generally clean, the plates somewhat spotted and toned, repaired tear to the Fireside plate, the spines a trifle darkened and with very few nicks, a fine presentation.
