Red morocco with a gilt medallion of Edinburgh Castle, with a three-sided "panorama" style concealed fore-edge painting (i.e. top-, fore-, and bottom-edge) of golfers. 7 3/8 x 5 1/4 inches; 389 pp. Light wear to binding; Together with MOORE, THOMAS. The Poetical Works... London: Frederick Warne, n.d. Full tree calf, with a concealed split fore-edge with two paintings of golfers. 7 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches; 673 pp. Spine a bit creased, attractive overall.
Such wraparound fore-edge paintings as displayed by the first work here are quite uncommon.
