London: T. Cadell and W. Davies, 1820. Later printing of the Thomas Stothard edition. Two volumes in three-quarters burgundy leather, each volume with a concealed fore-edge painting: volume I with an oval portrait of Defoe flanked with scenes from the novel; volume II with an oval portrait of Crusoe similarly flanked; the paintings likely by the Thistle Painter. 9 1/4 x 5 3/4 inches; 429, [1] pp.; 415, [1] pp.; plates engraved by Stothard throughout. Some wear, one joint with a tiny wormhole, a nice set overall.
