[FORE-EDGE PAINTING] DICKENS, CHARLES. Dombey and Son.
London: Chapman and Hall, 1862. Volume XIII of Dickens's Works. Pale blue calf, with a three-sided "panorama" style concealed fore-edge painting (i.e. top-, fore-, and bottom-edge), of Charles Dickens, together with scenes from the novel. 7 3/8 x 5 1/4 inches; 454 pp. Light wear to binding, some minor fading.
Such wraparound fore-edge paintings are quite uncommon.
