Minton Renaissance Style Palissy Ware Majolica Oval Fecundity Dish
Circa 1858-60
Unmarked, painted by Thomas Allen, original retailer's paper label for John Mortlock, 204 Oxford Street, London
The center painted with the Triumph of Galatea, being carried across the water by two dolphins, attended by trumpeting tritons and two putti, the recessed border molded in relief with recumbent images of Neptune, Ceres, Juno and Mercury. Width 15 inches.
