Calcutta: Thacker, Spink & Co., 1918. First edition. Publisher's cloth with mounted color print of a tiger. 10 5/8 x 8 1/4 inches (27 x 21 cm); [viii], 90 pp.; frontispiece, 16 plates after photographs. Light wear to binding, the plate lightly scuffed, but overall a near-fine copy.
"In this collection of letters written to his children, the author details his shikar adventures after tiger, leopard, bison, and sambur, primarily in Bengal and the Western Provinces. In addition there are notes on hunting tips and characteristics of big game as well as his further experiences pig sticking and shooting waterfowl" Czech Asia p. 46.
