A Small and Rare Chinese Jian Black and Russet 'Hare's Fur' Tea Bowl
Southern Song Dynasty
The small bowl has slightly rounded sides that rise to the mouth and is covered inside and out only with a lustrous black glaze that is then covered throughout with russet "hare's fur" splashes, the cavetto left with a black glaze, the black glaze pooling unevenly at the foot to expose the blackish brown body. Diameter 3 1/4 inches.
