London: John Van Voorste, 1851. First edition. Period leather over spine and corners with marbled paper over boards, gilt spine title, all edges dyed red. 8 1/4 x 5 3/8 inches; viii, 74 pp., with chromolithographic frontispiece, four chromolithographic plates and one lithographic plate.

Considered to be the first book on salt water fly-fishing. Westwood & Satchell p. 95, Heckscher 1075.
