[Edinburgh: M. Anderson,] 1839. First edition, first issue. Contemporary green honeycomb-patterned cloth. 6 1/4 x 4 inches; 48 pp, diagrams in text. Moderate soiling and wear to cloth, small black ink stain to lower corner, text block starting to separate from spine but still sound, contents lightly toned with some creasing around gutter, gift bookplate of Wilbur and Dorothy Downs to Connecticut College Library.
A practical treatise on fly dressing, "being the result of nearly fifty years' study and experience." The first issue, without the place of publication or the imprint on the title, is exceedingly rare - it has not appeared at auction since 2007, as per RareBookHub.
