Lot Details

Lot 149
HALSTON Four original fashion design drawings by Roy Halston (1932-1990).
Four original fashion sketches on lined paper, each 12 1/2 x 8 inches (33 x 20 cm), unsigned, comprising four similar drawings of a figure with outstretched arms. Fine.

These designs were drawn in the presence of and gifted to Nancy North, Halston model, personal confidant and wife of Halston designer Bill Dugan.

Of these drawings, Nancy North describes the first two as "sketches thinking of Martha Graham, a thought for Graham dancer:; the third as "a jacket with embroidery around hem"; and the fourth a "sketch of a chiffon blouse-Elsa Peretti gold mesh bra and pant, circa 1980s."
