HALSTON Four original fashion design drawings by Roy Halston (1932-1990).
Four original fashion sketches on lined paper, each 12 1/2 x 8 inches (33 x 20 cm), unsigned, comprising one sketch with two figures, one with the words "Reds (?)" likely indicating a fabric, and two full length sketches. Fine.
These designs were drawn in the presence of and gifted to Nancy North, Halston model, personal confidant and wife of Halston designer Bill Dugan.
Of these drawings, Nancy North describes the first sketch as "a costume for Nureyev-Martha graham dance"; the second as "three piece embroidered ensemble inspired by D.D. Ryan's style": of the the third sketch "I just love this off the shoulder style long made in silk charmeuse, another hit for special events"; and of the last "I just can't seem to let go of the shirt dress that can take you everywhere."
