Contemporary panelled calf. 15 1/3 x 9 1/2 inches (39 x 24 cm); Title in black and red, 1 plates (with two images), x, [6], 1-140, 145-256, 259- 266, 273-491, 465-759, [1] pp. (with the following errors in pagination: Page numbers 141-144, 257-258, 267-272 omitted, numbers 464-491 repeated). Cover and front free endpaper detached, the lower cover hanging from cords, minor worm damage to lower margin of title, toning to sections of text, the plate sometimes bound at front and described as a frontispiece (here bound at page 195), other stains to margins, bookplate of Beilby Thompson.
