This work, part of a sizable literature on the subject, argued that Native Americans were descended from the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. What makes it of especial interest is that the work has notable similarities in the content with the Book of Mormon, first published 1830. The Church of the Latter-day Saints itself produced a study that notes eighteen points of similarity with the Book of Mormon, and other authors such as Fawn Brodie have commented on the parallels between the works. Brigham Young University produced an edition in 1996. Sabin 82538; Pilling 3655; Rosenbach 252.
