Later blue morocco spine over contemporary blue paste-paper boards, brown leather spine label. 8 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (22 x 14.75 cm); [4], 60 pp. folding engraved map, 20 engraved plates by Mériot, tissue guards. Rubbing and toning to boards and spine, corners recolored, endpapers renewed, contents lightly spotted throughout.
An illustrated guide to the Chateau de Chantilly, and its magnificent grounds, featuring both a formal garden designed by Le Notre, and a landscape garden complete with a waterfall, various pavilions, and even a rustic menagerie village, which would inspire Marie-Antoinette's Hameau de la Reine at Versailles.
