Provenance: The Collection of Arnold "Jake" Johnson

A charmingly illustrated manuscript by Benjamin Marriott, the wonderful chronicler of Pennsylvania sporting life. This is a long manuscript devoted to trout fishing on the Lehigh. Beyond the illustrations, there are various items laid-in, including a note presenting the manuscript to William Brown "Uncle of Frank Marriott." We trace similar manuscripts by Marriott, in matching bindings, sold from the collection of Arnold "Jake" Johnson at Sotheby's, New York, in 2018.
