Trenton Majolica Japonisme 'Bird and Fan' Part Ice-Cream Service
Traditionally attributed to Eureka Pottery now attributed to Shorter & Boulton, Trenton, NJ, circa 1882-83
Each of open fan-form, most molded with either a bird or dragonfly inflight among flowering prunus, including: a diamond shaped tray designed as two conjoined fans, eight dishes in two sizes and eight nut/sauce dishes, impressed 3 and painted marks, most with black painted numerals. Length of nut/sauce dishes 4 inches; width of tray 16 inches; length of larger dishes 6 3/4 inches; length of smaller dishes 6 1/4 inches (17).
