Minton Majolica Beehive Cheese Dome and Stand
Shape no. 969, circa 1862
Naturalistically modeled as a bee skep, the coiled straw dome entwined in high relief with fruiting blackberry briar, the canted square stand raised on four bracket branch feet, impressed uppercase mark, diamond registry for 4 April 1862, and shape no. Height 13 1/8 inches, width 10 inches.
This form is recorded at the International Exhibition of 1862, London.
