Large French Palissy Ware Trompe L'Oeil Oval Dish
Attributed to Choisy-le-Roi, late 19th/20th century
Naturalistically molded with a large central baby shark and a crayfish on an island among shells, surrounded by four fish, the border with two frogs, two salamanders, a beetle and assorted shells among foliage, the foot rim pierced for hanging, unmarked. Length 24 1/2 inches, width 16 3/4 inches.
