Palissy Style Majolica Two-Handled Tortoiseshell-Ground Broth Bowl, Cover and Stand
Probably English, possibly Wedgwood or Minton, 19th century
In the Renaissance style, sponged in manganese on a mottled green ground, the stepped conical cover with ochre spire knop and spiral snake handles, the chalice form bowl with similar handles, on a conforming circular stand, ochre line rims, turquoise interior and underside, unmarked. Height 6 inches, width of bowl 9 1/2 inches, diameter of stand 8 3/4 inches.

overall very nice condition, short hairline near one handle on cover, some residual spray to the underside, minor rim chip to stand, examined under blacklight, some residue near snake's, but appears to come off
