English Majolica Brown-Ground Scallop-Shell Sardine Box and Cover On an Integral Stand
Circa 1870
Rectangular, the cover with a coral finial surrounded by radiating scallop shells and seaweed, the sides and conjoined stand similarly molded, reserved on a stippled brown ground, within yellow line rims, pale-turquoise blue interior, the underside in mottled yellow, unmarked. Width 9 1/2 inches.
