First edition, this a presentation copy to "my friend McAnn" with an accompanying verse (dated 1891), housed in the padded silk binding with an added hook we have not noted in other examples. 5 5/8 x 4 1/4 inches; 115, [8] pp.; frontispiece, plates, in-text illustrations, half-title, publisher's advertisements. Binding a trifle soiled, light wear, generally a sound copy of a very fragile item.
"Scarce... Material on Rangely [sic] Lakes, Androscoggin, Lake St John, the Saguenay, etc. Very important historically. Seldom seen books" (Bruns). Bruns C117.
