Fine Shibuichi, Shakudo, Silver, Copper and Gold Hexagonal Koro and Cover
Meiji Period, sealed underneath Kasotsu? and on the side on a gold plaque Jumin sei
The six side panels depict a continuous scene of Kannon on a large lotus pad holding a kalasa from which sprays elixer onto a carp swimming nearby. She is framed by shorelines and on the reverse two panels is a scene of a kneeling deity, either Raiden of Fuden, praying by a waterfall. The shoulders are carved with waves and applied in copper, shakudo, shibuichi and gold with musical instruments and lotus petals. The cover is decorated with reichi heads and strapwork in gold with raised shakudo edging and is surmounted by a brilliantly executed dragon encircling the knop; silver liner. Height 9 1/2 inches (24.1 cm)/
