Four Japanese Kozuka
19th Century
One iron, with a small oblong hole on one side and a simple raised design of a whiplash in taka-bori of silver; one sentoku and ji-migaki with a tiger by a stream, usu-niku-bori and chisel work, reverse in neko-gaki style, signed Katsutaka Seikin; one shibuichi and ji-migaki, with six famous 9th century poets, worked in kata-kiri, the reverse with an oni running with a club; and one shibuichi and ji-migaki, with a tiger in a bamboo grove worked in kata-kiri. Lengths 3 3/4 inches.
