Three Japanese Kozuka
19th Century
One shakudo, taka-bori of gold, silver, copper and brass on a nanako ground, reverse covered in gold, designed with four children tearing apart Hotei's bag as he sits on it; one shakudo, with a pagoda eave with rounded tiles at one end, a dragon protects a pearl, the other end with a shi shi reclining, taka-bori of gold, copper and brass; and one shakudo on fine nanako, with three mystic monkeys Iwazaru, Mizaru and Kikazaru worked in taka-bori of shibuichi and copper faces, reverse shibuichi, neko-gaki style. Lengths 3 3/4 inches.
