Carved with a flowing double lotus petal border and in the central panel with three altar niches, the central one holding a figure which may be an emination of Vajrasattva, flanked by images of Sakyamuni and Amitayus. Separating three three niches are two groups of the Five Buddhas of Wisdom and in the corners are figures of two Buddhas and two dharmapala; traces of gilding. The back of the cover is painted with text on a yellow ground within a red surround of black circles centered by holes for divination. 11 3/8 x 28 1/4 x 2 1/8 inches (28.8 x 71.7 x 5.4 cm).
