, a thick modern cloth volume containing approximately twenty pamphlets, each relating to the Kansas/Nebraska debate, the extension of slavery, etc. Includes Speech of the Hon. Charles Sumner on the Night of the Passage of the Kansas and Nebraska Bill. Washinton: Buell & Blanchard, 1854. 8 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches (22.5 x 14 cm). Some foxing and thumbsoiling but generally clean.
Besides the Sumner, the volume opens with a 1854 senate bill regarding the organization of the Nebraska Territory and contains speeches by Sam Houston, William Seward, Benjamin Wade and others.
