. Cincinnati: 19 July 1835. One page autograph letter signed "W.H. Harrison" on one folded sheet, addressed to relation Benjamin Harrison, Esq. at Berkley, Virginia. 8 1/8 x 7 5/8 inches (21 x 20 cm); in a double-sided framed with a portrait. Usual folds, spotting, unexamined out of frame.
This letter introduces Rufus Hodges to Harrison in advance of Hodges' "visit [to] some of the Virginia watering places." Hodges is best known for his genealogical history of his family name and as a confidant of Harrison, whose body he would bring back to Ohio upon his death in 1841 after only one month as president.
