and The Horse in Motion: "Abe Edgington," owned by Leland Stanford; driven by C. Marvin, walking at a 15-minute gait over the Palo Alto track, 18 June, 1878. Albumen prints mounted to publisher's card, image 3 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches (95 x 205 mm), the mounts imprinted recto with the Morse's Gallery information, title, and description, the versos with extensive text describing the sequences. The images overall with some age toning, one mount with a small abrasion just affecting the end of the Morse Gallery imprint.
Two unusual cabinet cards issued by Morse; apparently quite rare, possibly because of the 1878 fire that destroyed negatives stored at Morse's Gallery.
