George II Walnut Open Armchair by Giles Grendey
Circa 1745
The padded rectangular backrest above an overupholstered seat flanked by padded armrests with flowerhead-carved terminals on acanthus-carved supports, raised on cabriole legs headed by acanthus leaves and ending in claw-and-ball feet, on recessed casters. Height 39 inches (99 cm), width 27 1/2 inches (69.8 cm), depth 21 inches (53.3 cm).
