Set of Russian Silver-Gilt and Cloisonné Enamel Kovshi
Ivan Saltykov, Moscow, 1896
Comprising one large and six small kovshi; each of typical form, with pointed prow and hook handle, enameled throughout with varicolored shaded scrolling foliage within turquoise pellet borders, the handle of the large kovsh with engraved dedication inscription: Souvenir d'un ami. Length of large kovsh 12 1/4 inches (31 cm), length of small kovshi 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm).
