The rectangular case with hasp lock and drop front opening to an arrangement of small and long drawers with geometric-inlaid fronts and centered by a deep prospect drawer with shell-carved portico on turned supports, with side carrying handles and later bearers; together with a patinated metal carrying case for pen and ink. Height 19 1./2 inches (49.5 cm), width 32 3/4 inches (83.3 cm), depth 16 inches (40.7 cm).

Fair condition commensurate with age, age cracks throughout, chips and losses to edges throughout, left side of case with 20 x 4 replaced panel at back, flap with repaired break and butterfly braces with later piece slightly above bottom edge across most of width, woodworm damage, minor losses to geometric bone inlay, upper right drawer lacking pull, later supports stiff and in need of waxing to ease movement.
