Pair of Portuguese Rococo Walnut Side Chairs
Mid-18th century
Each pierced interlaced backrest elaborately carved with a ruffled cresting and a frame carved with flowerheads and 'peanuts', the drop-in compass seat with serpentine apron centered by ruffle-carved foliage and raised on cabachon-carved cabriole legs ending in claw-and-ball feet. Height 42 inches ( cm), width 22 1/2 inches ( cm), depth 17 1/2 inches ( cm).
