Pair of George III Satinwood, Marquetry and Part-Ebonized Games Tables in the manner of Mayhew and Ince
Circa 1780
Each hinged demilune top centered by an oval medallion depicting a neoclasscially garbed seated female, possibly Spring and Summer, within profusely blooming bowtied-crossed floral boughs, opening to a baize-lined playing surface above an ebonized thumbmolded edge, the conforming frieze inlaid with flowerheads flanked by scrolling leaves, raised on tapering square legs headed by paterae and inlaid with floral pendants on front and sides, ending in cuffed feet. Height 28 3/4 inches (73 cm), width 39 inches (99 cm), depth 19 inches (48.3 cm).
