Publisher's blue pictorial cloth gilt, top edge gilt. 9 5/8 x 6 3/8 inches; xiv, 535, [2] pp.; 2 folding maps in rear pocket, frontispiece, plates, in-text illustrations, half-title, publisher's advertisements. Extremities lightly bumped, but overall a lovely copy.
The maps are rare, as they only appeared in the first edition. Czech, Africa, p. 59 ("A well-written work of discovery, adventure and big game hunting"); Howgego IV T11.
