[MANUSCRIPT DIARY] Diary of a Shooting Trip in North Western Rhodesia. Oct. 21st to 29th '16.
[N.p., 1916]. Original stiff card with metal fastener. Folding manuscript map, 30 gelatin silver prints mounted on 12 leaves of card, 57 pp. of manuscript on rectos only. Covers generally a bit worn with some browning and pale staining, text leaves evenly toned, several card leaves with pale stains not affecting photographs.
An anonymous diary of a safari undertaken in Rhodesia in 1916, which includes a hand-drawn map, original photographs, and descriptions of hunting scenes, including a list of game bagged. The author lists a total of 24 head of wart-hog, ried-buck, puku, duiker, roan antelope, litutunga, hippopotami [sic], wild dogs, and hartabeste [sic], and 21 total head of guineafowl, partriges [sic], snipe, duck, spurwing-goose [sic], diver, and marahoo stalk. The photographs depict his bag, his local companions, the camp, etc. A unique item produced during safari's golden age.
