The rectangular mirror plate within a frame carved with architectural stiles and surmounted by a pierced cresting centered by a diving outspread winged ho-ho bird supported by arches flanked by C-scrolls and towers, the upper corners with winged seraphs above icicles and grape cluster-carved sides on pavilions with outcurved steps and centering the pierced C-scroll and icicle-carved apron; the backboard bearing a printed label: TURNER,/CARVED & GILDER,/WHOLESALE/PICTURE FRAME MANUFACTURER./PARADISE STREET, BIRMINGHAM./AND/W. Hampton street Dudley. Height 68 inches (172.7 cm), width 44 inches (111.7 cm).
Turner appears to be an unrecorded gilder.
