Grand Duke George Mikhailovich: Group of Letters Related to the October Revolution, 1917
Comprising 18 letters addressed to his daughter, Princess Nina Georgievna, including: a letter dated October 15 which describes the deteriorating situation in Russia and the seizure of private property; a letter dated October 27 which describes the October Revolution, the seizure of the Winter Palace, the arrest of ministers and the Grand Duke's prediction of coming civil war; a letter dated October 31 which describes the outbreak of civil war and battles between the Bolsheviks and Kerensky's forces; a letter dated November 4 which describes the seizure of Gatchina and Tsarskoye Selo; a letter dated November 28 which describes anarchy in Petrograd; and a letter dated December 18 which details the Grand Duke's thoughts on the Revolution.
