[BIG GAME-PHOTOGRAPHY] Album of hunts in Southeast Asia, 1920s.
Thailand, Singapore, Federated Malay States and elsewhere: circa 1925. An interesting 1920s album of three-quarters morocco over watercolored paper covers, the morocco artfully shaped, overall 9 1/2 x 12 inches. The album containing about 58 mounted photographs, mostly 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches, including a few picture postcards mounted at end. The spine rubbed and a label removed with some losses to spine and cover leather, tears to a few guard sheets but the photographs fine and loosely mounted.
An intense album opening with a series of photographs of a crocodile hunt followed by images of large ostrich eggs; a snake skinning scene marked as "Singapore"; elephants and tiger hunts; a picture postcard of young women marked "Batang Padang, Perak"; at the end a newspaper clipping laid-in identifies the hunter.
