Manuscript game book on pre-printed forms, compiled 1865-1916. Full reverse calf, upper cover with leather label with the title above. 5 x 9 7/8 inches (12.5 x 25 cm); approximately 300 pp., neatly accomplished by hand on the printed forms, enlivened with occasional small humorous watercolors and drawings, mounted engravings etc. Neatly rebacked. Bookplate of Francis C. Bridgeman.
The summary of the sporting life of the second son of the 3rd Earl of Bradford, a military man and M.P. 26 pp. of the Game Book for 1870 are devoted to an interesting and lively diary of hunting in India, accompanied by a very funny drawing of several hunters on their howdahs beset by flies. Bridgeman hunted big and small game, fished for salmon, and all that one would expect for a man of his station at that time.
