Chinese Export Black and Gilt Lacquer Center Table

The associated tray decorated with pavillions in riverscapes, the later frieze fitted with three similary decorated drawers, the shaped aprons decorated with floral garlands and pendants; the underside with chalked inscription 'RIBOLZI' and 'ART TRANS'. Height 30 inches (76.2 cm), width 36 1/2 inches (92.7 cm), depth 22 1/2 inches (57.1 cm).

Probably adapated, tray associated, frieze and drawers appear to be added at a later date, restorations, inpainted, lifting, and craquelure to lacquer throughout, associated tray now with later varnish, inpainting, old marks and scratches, scuffs to corners, legs and feet; underside with chalked inscription 'RIBOLZI' and 'ART TRANS'; X-form braces to underside later, tops of legs with Chinese numerical characters 1 - 4.
