Lot Details

Lot 42
EVANS, WALKER (1903-1975) [Kitchen, Burroughs Family Cabin, Hale County, Alabama],
1936, likely printed 1950s or earlier. Gelatin silver print, 'RA-8137-A' in the negative, image 7 3/4 x 9 7/8 inches (200 x 253 mm), verso with the Walker Evans Lunn Galleries stamp (with pencil notation 11-86). Minor age-appropriate silvering noted, mostly to the plateholder area and the darkest image areas, small crease to corner (l.l.), apparently not breaking the emulsion. Slight fluorescence noted against a dated control specimen, though this is possibly due to chemical offset from the back mat. Framed.
