Date cyphers for 1866
Impressed uppercase marks and small cyphers, incised figure shape no.'s 421 and 431, black painted 50 to both
Each modeled standing wearing traditional pastoral dress, leaning on the back of a tall yellow pannier basket, the oval bases applied with clusters of grapes and trailing grapevine. Height 9 inches.

Male Figure: in overall good condition; there has been a professional restoration to the brim of the hat; there is a small nick to the glaze with associated overpaint located at the bottom rim edge of the foot at the back; there is a short horizontal firing line located at the back side of the yellow pannier basket (approx. 1/2 in.); examined under black light

Female Figure: presents well; in good condition; there appears to have been professional restoration with overspray to a complete break to a section of the foot, including a break across both of the figure's feet at the ankle area; there is a very short firing line, in the making, located on the bottom band of the foot rim, not of any consequence and not visible when placed; examined under black light
