London: Taylor and Hessey, 1822. First edition. Full red morocco gilt, unsigned, but an elaborate and pretty binding, all edges gilt. 6 1/4 x 3 3/4 inches (16 x 9.5 cm); half-title, 206 pp. A sound clean copy, though lacking the terminal leaf of ads.

First edition of this classic of the drug literature, perhaps the first work to describe a drug addiction.
