Gelatin silver print depicting Dinesen at home in Rungsted, Denmark just two weeks before her death in 1962. 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches (19.5 x 19.5 cm); stamped on the verso and with several notations, including a longer one likely in Beaton's hand; Together with BEATON, CECIL. Autograph letter signed regarding the death of Dinesen, September 1962, written to the Director of Exhibitions at MOMA Monroe Wheeler, reporting "it was such a terrible shock to read of her death in the paper yesterday, as it was only two weeks ago that I went to see her in Rungsted. I took a lot of pictures of her and thought you and Glenway might like to have this last souvenir of her."
