Circa 1880, most of the Griffen Smith & Hill (GSH) examples, unmarked and attributed by tradition, including: two yellow centered deep-violet pansies, painted D; a Copeland violet and yellow petaled pansy, impressed uppercase mark and date code M78; a GSH, unmarked, multicolor pansy, gray reverse; a GSH, unmarked, mottled green and brown pansy; two unmarked, autumn leaves; one unmarked, slightly larger autumn leaf; a GSH, unmarked, geranium leaf; a Griffen Smith & Hill begonia leaf, impressed GSH; a GSH, unmarked, leaf in blue, brown & green; a GSH, unmarked, lily pad; a GSH, unmarked, leaf in a basket; a George Jones miniature strawberry, impressed GJ; a George Jones lily pad, impressed GJ and 70; a Wedgwood pink aster, IUCM and date code GNL; a Wedgwood pink aster, IUCM and date code GNL; a Wedgwood ocean, shell & seaweed, IUCM & AEL; a Simon Fielding Japanese fan pattern, reg. diamond; a Simon Fielding shell and fishnet, IUCM & diamond; one unmarked, swan on a pond, unmarked; a green-ground fish head, perhaps Adams & Bromley; two unmarked, apple blossom on cobalt, yellow rim; a Wedgwood cobalt-blue and yellow horse-shoe; a Griffen, Smith & Hill leaf on pink, impressed GSH; a Griffen, Smith & Hill shell and seaweed, impressed GSH; a Griffen, Smith & Hill shell, black printed 23; and a George Jones turquoise-ground Japanese fan, diameter 3 inches.
